Spring Things

Brightly colored flowers.
Lemonade.
New jammies.
Kitties high on catnip at 3am who wake you while they have a bad case of the rips.
Baby birds who are still learning their songs.
Sitting in the sun and reading a book at 6pm.
Neighbors spending time getting their yards back in shape.
Warm slow sunrises and bright full moons.
The first fresh ripe berry of the season.

And, let's be real, marshmallow peeps.

Sooooo ... what are your favorite things about this time of year?

The millions of shades of green in the back yard.

Warmer Weather
Longer Days
Frogs and Turtles out in the pond

And of course...Peeps!

The fact that even when it snows in April, as has been forecast for tonight, that it's usually gone in a few days and doesn't crust over into big dingy piles of frozen disgustingness.

The first day of not having to wear my winter coat.

More sunlight (especially since I work until 8 - it's nice to look outside and still see some light at 7:30).

Opening the windows wide on the first nice day, letting the place air out after a long, cold winter.

I'm another one looking forward to letting the place air out.

And, seeing the squirrels hanging out in my tree, talking with the squirrel architect, haggling over where - exactly - this year's nest should go.

Mint chocolate chip shakes from the really good dairy in town. Daffodils. Perky daffodils. My cat "barking" at the birds in the tree.

The sunlight that shines through my office window so much that I can turn off a row of overhead lights.

The sun. More sun. Longer, later, warming me, defrosting me, after all these cold months.
